Lindenhurst family injured in daylight break-in

Police say a father and his two children were pistol-whipped by two or three men who broke into their Lindenhurst home Thursday afternoon.

Police say the men broke into the home at 84 Grove St. just after noon with the intent of robbing it. The father, his 15-year old son and 23-year-old daughter all suffered injuries and went to the hospital to get stitches.

Police say they're waiting to interview the family and don't yet have a good description of the men, who are still on the loose.
