State transportation officials have agreed to hand over money for lane expansion around Route 110, an infrastructure project one corporation says it won?t move to Long Island without.

Canon U.S.A. says it is willing to move its headquarters to Melville if more lanes are added to the LIE service roads around Route 110 to accommodate traffic. Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) held a news conference earlier Monday demanding the state Department of Transportation hand over its surplus stimulus money for the project.

With the DOT?s assurance late Monday it would hand over $5 million, Canon says it welcomes all additional funding critical in making the project a reality.
