Robbers target double-amputee in Massapequa

Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred overnight in Massapequa.Investigators say they received a call about the Alhambra Road home invasion at around 2 a.m. Tuesday. According to police, the resident says two men claiming to be police officers knocked on the door and asked to be let in. The victim says the men pried the door open when they were not allowed in.Investigators say the victim, 28-year-old Jason Portuese, is a double-amputee in a wheelchair.Cops say the men took jewelry from the home before fleeing in an unknown direction.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
