E. Rockaway man arrested for kidnapping

Police say they?ve arrested an East Rockaway man accused of kidnapping his girlfriend and taking her across state lines.

Dwayne Saunders, 29, allegedly went after the woman after she changed her cell phone number. Police say he went to the 23-year-old woman?s school in Uniondale Tuesday morning, threw her in his car and beat her. He then drove her to Atlantic City, New Jersey where cops say she snuck a phone call to her mother telling her she was hurt.

Cops say Saunders drove to a motel in Queens but was under police surveillance by then. They nabbed him on Thursday.
