Ex-Hicksville teacher faces child porn charges

An East Meadow man who taught science in Hicksville for 20 years was arrested on child pornography charges Wednesday.

John Spring, 57, is accused of having child porn on his home computer. Spring resigned from Trinity Lutheran School two years ago when police began their investigation.

Authorities say they launched their investigation after a federal agent saw Spring acting strangely at a pool in Eisenhower Park. They say he was hanging around, watching children swim and went into a boy?s locker room.

Spring faces 12 counts of child porn possession charges and faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
