Marine from Farmingdale killed overseas
Family and friends are mourning the death of a U.S. Marine from Farmingdale who was killed in Afghanistan Thursday.
Lance Cpl. James Argentine, 22, had been taking part in a combat operation in Farah Province when a roadside bomb went off, killing him and two other Marines.
Brother Gary Cregan, the principal of St. Anthony High School that Argentine attended, says his former student made an impression on everyone.
"What struck me most was his honesty and sincerity in all things," Cregan says. "He was always interested in helping others."
A special Mass will be held Sunday at St. Anthony's Chapel in Argentine's honor.
