Central Islip fire probed as murder cover-up
Police are searching for clues in the slayings of three people found inside a Central Islip home that was then set on fire.
The bodies of two sisters, 31-year-old Katrice Daniels and 28-year-old Mykier Daniels, and a man, 19-year-old Louis Calixto, were found with gunshot wounds inside the burning Hickory Street home Tuesday morning. Mykier Daniels' two young children were found uninjured wandering outside the home, police say.
A friend of Katrice Daniels says Mykier Daniels called her sister the night before they were killed, explained she was in danger and needed to bring her children over to the Hickory Street home. The friend says Mykier Daniels may have stolen a laptop, necklace and drugs.
