A Freeport man is accused of leaving his elderly mother injured on the floor of their home for days.

Police arrested Lacy Reid and charged him with reckless endangerment. Officials say he stepped over his injured mom as he went back and forth to work.

Officials say the 64-year-old woman fell in the kitchen Tuesday and dragged herself to the front door of the home two days later. By then she had gone without food or water for two days, officials say. That is when Reid called for an ambulance.

The woman is in critical condition.
