A retired Central Islip man was killed inside his apartment on Hoppen Drive Friday night, police say.
Investigators say 67-year-old Angel Liciaga was found by his daughter Edna Alverez at around 7 p.m. at the Court Plaza Senior Apartments.
Laciaga's relatives say the Army veteran had frequently complained about lax security in the building. According to neighbors, guards patrol the complex from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., but security cameras are located only on the first two floors. Liciaga lived on the fifth floor.
Police are interviewing the victim's family members. So far, no arrests have been made.
