Long Beach police say the Chase ATM on Park Avenue was doctored, possibly allowing thieves to steal account numbers and PIN numbers.

Authorities received a tip about a skimming device, which steals information from the strip on ATM cards. Police say they also noticed a small camera installed near the ATM.

Lt. Bruce Meyer says the skimmer looks like it is held on the ATM with screws, but is really placed on with adhesive. Police ask anyone who may have used the ATM recently, or who has information about the skimmer, to call 516-705-7370.
