Tropical Storm Danny continues north
Parts of Long Island will get hit with some wet and windy weather Saturday thanks to Tropical Storm Danny.News 12 Long Island meteorologist Bill Korbel says the storm will be about 100 miles off Montauk. The East End will see winds between 20-30 mph, rainy conditions and beach erosion and up to three inches of rain could accumulate.
A change in the direction of the storm, however, could change all that. Suffolk officials are urging residents to be prepared, even while scaling back some of their storm-monitoring efforts. LIPA says it will have extra crews out.
The storm is expected to be out of the way by Sunday morning.
