Hundreds pack rowdy health care meeting
? About 900 people packed a town hall meeting organized by Rep. Tim Bishop (D-Southampton) in Farmingville Thursday night to voice their opinions on the issue of health care.
The topic sparked some heated exchanges at Sachem High School East, where the meeting was held. Rep. Bishop says he supports President Barack Obama?s health care reform bill, and believes the plan is necessary.
Some of Bishop?s constituents accused the lawmaker of trying to pad the audience with pro-health care non-constituents that were bused in by Democrats. Bishop denied busing in supporters.
Rep. Bishop says he?ll consider everyone?s comments when he returns to Washington after Labor Day.
