Medical waste found outside Bay Shore school
Suffolk police are investigating after they say needles and other medical waste were dumped on the grounds of a Bay Shore school Monday.
Diane Moore says she was walking with her granddaughters when she found at least 100 hypodermic needles littered along the back field of Hemlock Park Elementary School. Moore says she reported it to the school.
Some parents, however, say the school never told them about it. Instead, they say they heard about the discovery from news reports.
Sgt. Kevin Beyrer wouldn?t give too many details about the items, only saying it appears the items were stolen from a medical facility or hospital.
