Fringe group protests at Huntington temple

Members of an anti-gay, anti-Semitic religious group protested Thursday outside the Huntington synagogue where a memorial was held for slain Yale student Annie Le.

The Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church says it chose to demonstrate at Temple Beth El because Le was set to marry a Jewish man who worshipped there.

The group plans to stop at synagogues in Brooklyn as well as schools and temples in Great Neck. Students at Great Neck North High School held a unity rally in response.
