Claws coming out in court over cat feud
A feud over stray cats between two Westhampton neighbors has blown into a cat fight in court.
Cat lover Thomas Young, 71, is battling charges of trespassing and criminal mischief. His neighbor, Deanna Jacobi had him arrested after he allegedly sprayed a strong cat repellant on animal traps under her home.
Jacobi maintains she's an animal lover and says the traps were placed by a licensed trapper for raccoons. Young, who owns three cats and feeds nearly 20 strays near his property, says he's already had to save a cat from the traps.
Young's trial begins in mid-October.
