Members of the Islamic Center of Long Island are collecting donations for victims of Wednesday's devastating earthquake in Indonesia.
Aswita Taizir, a member of the congregation, says she was horrified by word of the 7.6 quake. Nearly two dozen members of her family are in Indonesia. She says it took countless phone calls to find out her relatives were OK.
At least 715 people were killed by the quake and according to government officials, roughly 2,400 people have been hospitalized. A number of survivors have been found since the quake but nearly 3,000 may still be trapped.
