A new News 12-Hofstra University poll reveals Long Island residents are divided on the president?s health care reform plan.
Forty-eight percent of Long Islanders surveyed say they oppose the president?s plan, with 29 percent in strong opposition. Forty-five percent say they favor the plan, which includes 14 percent that favor it strongly.
Denise Snow, of the Nassau/Suffolk Law Services Committee, says many on the Island have health care horror stories.
"When people become ill they find out just how little insurance they actually have," Snow says.
