Police hunting for alleged hit-and-run driver

Police are still searching for a hit-and-run suspect who allegedly struck a teen crossing Bellmore Avenue two weeks ago.

Justin Sathue, of Levittown, was crossing Bellmore Avenue while on his way to a youth group meeting when he was hit, police say. Sathue has since been recovering from his injuries in the hospital. According to his mother, he suffered bleeding in his brain and a broken pelvis, among other injuries.

Police say the car that hit Sathue is a dark-colored Chevy Suburban or GMC Yukon with possible front end damage.

"I just think the person who did this to me should come forward because I don't think they can live with themselves," Sathue says.
