Police say a vicious attack left a 15-year-old girl severely beaten inside her Great Neck home.

Police say the victim's parents were on vacation in Florida and she was staying with relatives until Monday when her parents were due to return. Hours after her aunt dropped her back at home police say the teen was accosted by someone in a mask.

The parents arrived home hours later, found their daughter semi-conscience and called police.

Police won't say if the victim knew the attacker or how the person got into the home. The girl suffered major facial trauma. It's not clear if anything was stolen from the home, police say.
