Fugitive wanted for Calif. murder found on LI

Police say they captured a suspected murderer Monday outside the Hampton Bays LIRR station.

Erick Morales was arrested early Monday morning for suspected drunken driving. Police say he gave them a fake name, but his fingerprints linked him to a murder committed in California.

Morales is accused of killing a 15-year-old girl near San Francisco, Calif. in 2001. Police believe he was renting a room in a Hampton Bays home for the past year while he worked at a local restaurant.

Morales is due in court for an extradition hearing Wednesday. He will likely be transported to California soon.
