Poll: LIers give county leaders moderate marks

According to a News 12-Newsday-Siena poll, many Long Island residents aren?t happy with their county and state elected officials.
Just under half of Long Island voters say they have a favorable opinion of Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi. However, almost 80 percent of those surveyed say they don?t know or have no opinion of his opponent, Republican Ed Mangano.
More than 50 percent of voters have a favorable opinion of Suffolk County?s chief Steve Levy. He received high marks from Hispanic responders despite his past tension with that community.
On the state level, more than 60 percent view Gov. David Paterson unfavorably. His potential 2010 opponent Rick Lazio had higher favorability. Half said they had no opinion or didn?t know anything about Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.
