Cops: Teacher went to bar after hit-and-run

Police say the Center Moriches woman accused of fatally striking a pedestrian while driving drunk went to a bar after leaving the accident scene.
Investigators say New York City teacher Jennifer Johnson struck and killed 49-year-old Shirley resident Michael Lynch Sunday morning on the William Floyd Parkway. According to police, Johnson left the scene, went back to the same bar and then returned to the parkway and surrendered.
Johnson?s lawyer denies his client was at a bar and says she didn?t have alcohol in her system for at least four hours before the crash. He also says Johnson swerved to miss another car right before the accident. Prosecutors are looking into that.
