Cops tackle burglary string in LI neighborhood
Residents in one New Hyde Park neighborhood are calling on authorities to provide them with more protection after a rash of home burglaries.
About two dozen Manhasset Hills homeowners gathered Tuesday to devise a plan of action. Police say there have been eight burglaries since the beginning of August. Residents believe their neighborhood is being targeted because it?s right near the LIE.
The Nassau County police commissioner tells News 12 Long Island he has assigned more patrol officers, who will be using technology to catch the burglars. He also says a community meeting on the matter will be held Nov. 1.
