Cops: School hall monitor stole from lockers

Officials say the hall monitor at a Selden high school was caught on tape stealing cash from students? lockers.

Newfield High School senior Tiana Rapp installed a video camera near her gym locker after nearly $200 was stolen. She and police say the video shows 54-year-old Linda Cubano opening Rapp?s locker with a master key and rifling through her belongings.

Students say many others have reported cash stolen over the years and they?ve long suspected Cubano. Cops say she admitted burglarizing 20 lockers over two years.

Officials say the recording doesn?t show Cubano taking any items from the locker.

Cubano faces three counts of petit larceny and has resigned from her job.
