(AP) - A Long Island gym teacher has beensentenced to 18 years in prison after admitting he raped abartender.
Michael Wachholder pleaded guilty last month inSuffolk County Court in Riverhead. He admitted that he attacked thebartender at a Mount Sinai tavern last February.
Following his arrest, the 30-year-old Wachholder was placed onadministrative leave from his teaching job in the Three Villageschool district.
At the sentencing on Wednesday, Wachholder apologized to thevictim and his family.
