In an unexpected turn, Republicans picked up a majority in the Nassau County Legislature for the first time in 10 years Tuesday.
Republicans gained control after Republican Howard Kopel beat Democrat Jeff Toback in Tuesday night's elections, giving the GOP control 10-8 with one race remaining too close to call.
