Car drives into East Northport home

An East Northport family was awakened early Saturday morning by the sound of an out-of-control car crashing through the front door.

Ross Lanham, who owns the home where his brother-in-law's family lives, says it is the third time in about 10 years that a car spun out of control on his property, located on the corner of Town Line Road and Laura Lane.

Laham says he planted a tree to protect his house, but on Saturday that tree was driven through his nephew's bedroom wall. No one was injured.

Suffolk police say the driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with DWI.
