4 arrested after wild pursuit on LIE

Four people were arrested on drug charges after a police chase Tuesday night on the LIE.

Police say the chase began in Ronkonkoma after they saw a drug deal go down and tried to stop the vehicle involved. The Jeep took off, prompting police to pursue it to exit 46 in Plainview where the driver crashed.

Five Suffolk police officers were injured as were two of the Jeep?s passengers.

Passenger Anthony DeRosa tells News 12 Long Island the chase had nothing to do with drugs. He says the driver, 38-year-old Michael Baldridge, wouldn?t stop for police because he was out on bail and scared he?d be arrested.
