Health officials: H1N1 inoculations picking up

Local health officials admit distribution of the swine flu vaccine has been slow but say it?s picking up.

The top health officials in both counties held a joint press conference Thursday to update residents on how they?re tackling the illness.

Suffolk just received more than 30,000 doses of vaccine and Nassau has 16,000. Both counties are limiting immunizations to pregnant women, young children and other high-risk patients.

Meanwhile, federal health officials say 4,000 Americans have died from the virus; four times higher than they expected. They also say it?s sickened 22 million Americans since April.
