Cops: LI man dies after being shot with Taser

(AP) - Police say a man who had locked himself and his mother in her Long Island home died after he tussled withofficers and was zapped with a stun gun.

Police say they're investigating the early Saturday death of43-year-old Darryl Bain in Coram, about 50 miles east ofNew York City.

They say Bain's brother called 911 alleging Bain was high oncocaine and had shut himself in the house with their 78-year-oldmother.

Police say three officers heard a struggle inside and enteredthe house and fought with Bain, who was temporarily stunned afterbeing shot with a Taser.

Police tell Newdsay that he continued to struggle as theyhandcuffed him, and he was stunned a second time with the Taserbefore dying.

The medical examiner's office will determine the cause ofdeath.
