Plainview OTB betting on dancers for business

A Plainview OTB parlor?s plan to open a nightclub featuring dancers is raising eyebrows in the neighborhood and in the Nassau County Legislature.

The OTB Race Palace is turning Wednesday nights into "XS Wednesdays.? Owners are turning the downstairs restaurant into a nightclub and something called the ?Blush Room.?

Steven Carl, the restaurateur who came up with the idea, says it?s all to drum up business. The dancers, Carl says, won?t be naked or even half naked so he doesn?t understand the controversy.

Nassau County Legislature Presiding Officer Diane Yatauro says it?s inappropriate considering OTB profits go into the county's general fund.
