Pop star's appearance scrapped due to crowd

Hoards of teenage girls packed into Roosevelt Field Mall Friday to see 15-year-old pop star Justin Bieber only to have police cancel the event due to the "out-of-control" crowd.

Some of the teens say they skipped school and camped out at 5 a.m. to see Bieber. They say the crowd went crazy when they heard of the cancellation.

Nassau police say they were called by mall security to disperse the crowd and make sure no one got hurt. Four to five apparently minor injuries were reported.

One arrest was made in connection with the incident - the senior vice president of sales at Island Def Jam Records.
