Thousands in pills stolen from pharmacy

A neighborhood pharmacy in Oceanside was looted overnight Thursday by burglars who took hundreds of prescription bill bottles.

Police and workers say Ocean Chemists Pharmacy was broken into through the basement. Two long shelves of medicine were cleared out.

Authorities say the pharmacy was robbed of thousands worth of medicine. Store manager Linda Ohlsen estimates the losses at $75,000. The pharmacy is waiting to see if insurance will cover it.

Police have no suspects. Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
