Mangano ahead by 377 after paper ballot count

After the final 600 of 9,000 absentee ballots were counted Monday, Republican Ed Mangano led Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi by 377 votes.

Suozzi announced Monday he may throw the towel in if a judge's ruling still leaves him behind in the vote count.

Mangano still doesn?t consider himself the winner despite maintaining a thin lead since Election Day. A judge will rule on the validity of between 500 and 600 ballots Wednesday.

?I don't want to prolong this thing,? Suozzi says. ??I'm not going to want to strap them by not giving them an opportunity for a transition.?
