2nd teen pleads guilty in immigrant's death

One of the six remaining defendantsawaiting trial in the fatal attack on an Ecuadoreanimmigrant has pleaded guilty to all charges.

Jose Pacheco has agreed to testify against other defendantsaccused in the death of dry cleaning worker Marcelo Lucero. He pleaded guilty to attempted gang assault, attempted gang assault as a hate crime and conspiracy. He faces 25 years to life in prison.

Lucero was stabbed in the chest on Nov. 8, 2008 in Patchogue.

Authorities say seven teens went looking for a Latino victim.Last month, another defendant pleaded guilty to conspiracy and hatecrime charges and agreed to testify.

The year since the Lucero slaying has put a national spotlighton the area's race relations. The U.S. Justice Department launcheda probe of hate crimes and police response to them.
