Rash of Nassau robberies may be work of 1 man

Police are investigating five armed holdups over just two nights in Nassau County that may be the work of one serial robber.

Witnesses in each incident say the suspect pulled out a silver gun.

Three of the recent incidents occurred one after the other. A Sunoco gas station in Freeport was hit at 8:30 Sunday. The Lakeview Deli on Lakeview Avenue was then knocked over within a half-hour. Just 19 minutes after that, a man was robbed at the corner of Marvin Avenue and Gerald Street.

Authorities are looking into whether these incidents are connected to a confirmed pattern of six other holdups in the county.
