Wet weather floods parts of Long Island

? Wet, windy weather hit Long Island Wednesday morning, overwhelming storm drains in some parts of the Island.

The precipitation, part of a winter storm hitting much of the country, first hit Long Island as snow early in the morning before turning to heavy rain.

Huntington Village was covered with a thin white blanket at approximately 1 a.m. By the afternoon, waters on flood-prone New York Avenue were knee deep.
