Judge in Oddone trial rejects calls for mistrial

The case of a Farmingville man accused of killing an off-duty Suffolk corrections officer hit some bumps Friday as the defense tried to get the judge to declare a mistrial.

Anthony Oddone is accused of fatally choking Andrew Reister in August when Reister was moonlighting as a bouncer at a Southampton pub. The defense says Oddone was acting in self defense.

Friday in court, the defense claimed two jurors discussed being deadlocked after Thursday?s deliberations. The judge denied the motions and ordered the jury to continue deliberations into at least an eighth day.
