Man gets 13 years in Rockville Centre cop crash

A Queens man was sentenced to 13 years in prison Friday for hitting a Nassau cop car while fleeing from what police say would have been a robbery.

Brian Frazier, 38, slammed into Rockville Centre Police Sgt. Ernest Ziegler?s patrol car head on in July 2008 on Peninsula Boulevard. Another police car was chasing Frazier?s vehicle at the time.

Before Frazier?s sentence was read aloud, he addressed Ziegler saying ?It was not my intention to hurt you in any way. I'm sorry for everything."

Ziegler is hoping to go back to work next month. He has been out of work since the accident.
