W. Babylon mom in heroin bust: Police set me up

A West Babylon mother charged in connection to a heroin ring says police set her up.

The Suffolk District Attorney?s Office says 32-year-old Michelle Atkinson was observed buying and selling heroin more than 30 times. It describes her as the county?s ?go-to-girl? for heroin.

Atkinson argues she was actually working for the district attorney?s office to gather information on the Suffolk County heroin trade.

?I?m not a drug dealer,? she says. ?I?m an addict.?

Atkinson is charged with conspiracy to sell heroin and criminal sale of a controlled substance. She faces up to 25 years in prison. Atkinson is free on $75,000 bail.
