Huntington votes down councilmanic representation

Huntington residents overwhelmingly voted down a proposal Tuesday that would have changed how they?re represented in town government.

The proposal sought to create a councilmanic town board that would divide the town into districts. Each district would have then elected their own representatives to the Town Board.

Huntington residents voted the proposal down 81.29 to 18.71 percent. Residents will continue to elect four council members from anywhere in the town.
