Airline deals help fliers beat the bad weather

With more stormy weather headed toward Long Island for Christmas, airlines are offering special deals to help get fliers up in the air and out of New York.

The Midwest is getting hit by a snowstorm and rain is predicted for Long Island over Christmas. To avoid stranding passengers in the airports, United, Delta, American and Southwest are waiving fees for passengers who have layovers in the Midwest and want to book earlier flights.

United Airlines is also letting anyone flying out of New York bump up their flight for free no matter the destination.
