Last-minute shoppers hit stores across LI

Last-minute Long Island shoppers raced against the clock Thursday to finish their Christmas shopping.

One store hoping to cash in on the shopping surge is Macy's. The chain's location at Roosevelt Field was open around the clock through Christmas Eve to accommodate those shopping very late at night or early in the morning.

Erica Kenna, a mother of five from Garden City, took advantage of the extended shopping hours. Kenna says she is a stay-at-home mom and it is difficult to leave the house to go shopping. Others say they enjoy the thrill of shopping at the last minute with the crowds.
