LI boy gets Christmas treat from firefighters

The North Babylon Fire Department gave one boy a very special Christmas this year.

Derek Stahl, 5, was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. He has gone through chemotherapy and has had surgery but doctors say his future is uncertain.

The firefighters, along with Santa, paid a visit to Stahl Friday showering him with presents, including his own fire helmet.

?It meant a lot,? Derek?s mom Lyndsey says. ?It shows that people really care - that they would take time on Christmas to help someone else.?

Derek also got a fire truck bed and ceramic firehouse.
