Memorial Day marked with parade in St. James
Residents of St. James lined the street to honor fallen veterans on Memorial Day.
With American flags flying, marchers commemorated the men and women who have died while serving in the country's armed forces.
"It's a memorialization of all the servicemen and women who have given their lives as a sacrifice to our country," said Lee Dike, the parade chairman.
For decades, crowds have flocked to Lake Avenue to see the community's annual parade.
"It's a day to really appreciate those who have made sacrifices," said St. James resident Debora Brennan. "It's important to commemorate them and not forget them."
