Richard Derosa, of Bellmore, accused of posing as government agent

A Bellmore man is under arrest for allegedly posing as a special agent for the government.

Richard Derosa is accused of trying to set up a meeting to buy a handgun last year.

According to police, Derosa met up with the seller in a McDonald's parking lot in upstate New York after claiming he was a federal agent.

A search of his home allegedly turned up several guns and fake badges.

Derosa was arrested this week and remains in jail.
