Bitter winter blast hits Long Island

Long Island was hit by a blast of bitter cold Sunday with wind gusts reaching up to 45 miles per hour.

Many local residents stayed in, but many had no choice. At a Hicksville car wash, employee Jose Reyes called the fierce winds and cold water for cleaning vehicles a bone chilling combination.

"Some people don't want to work like that, but I have to," Reyes says.
