Steve Levy considering bid for governor

Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy says he is considering a bid for governor.Levy announced Sunday that he has formed an exploratory committee. If he does run, it could mean a three-way race for the Democratic nomination between Levy, Gov. David Paterson and Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

Levy says he views the state?s financial situation as a challenge. As for what some say is his controversial stance on illegal immigration, Levy says that issue is bound to fade into the background because of the economy.

Hofstra University professor and News 12 Long Island political analyst Larry Levy says Cuomo is the biggest obstacle between Steve Levy and the governor?s mansion.
