Autopsy: Baby found in trash was full-term

(AP) - An autopsy has determined that remainsfound at a Long Island trash recycling center were that of afull-term baby boy.

Suffolk County police were called to a recycling transferstation in Yaphank shortly after 9 a.m. Monday. Anemployee of Winters Brothers, which operates the facility,discovered the infant wrapped inside a baled up collection oftrash.

Detectives said Wednesday they are now trying to determine whereand when the child's body may have been dumped. Police say thecenter takes in refuse from both residential and commercialcustomers around Long Island.

The child is expected to be buried by a group of volunteers thatcares for abandoned infants.
