Synagogues come together to help needy

Nearly a dozen Long Island synagogues got together Sunday to help less fortunate residents being hit extra hard by the recent cold snap.

Volunteers lined up at the Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation to put together meals and get blankets and coats ready for donation.

A lot of the food was donated by local businesses, but most of it was made by the congregants themselves.
